What is Roshni Homes?
Roshni Homes’ is a purpose built shelter facility for orphaned children and it strives to provide a home and family to orphans and equip them with quality education. It was inaugurated in 2002 by the governor of Punjab Lt. Gen Retd. Khalid Maqbool. It has an area of 08 acres and is based in Gujranwala. It has eight children homes and two separate youth blocks for adolescent boys and girls respectively. It also has a library and an admin block. It was founded by a renowned businessman cum philanthropist of Gujranwala Mr. Anwar Dar and his close associates. It is run by a Board of Trustees and its expenses are partially borne by the Board of Trustees and generally by Zakat and Donations from General Public.
FACTS & ACHIEVEMENTS:
Roshni Homes supports and houses more than 60 children in its premises, who are all orphans (male & female). It is the only purpose built Orphanage in Pakistan having unique system to produce “Balanced Human Beings”.
All Roshni Homes Children are enrolled in the Best English medium schools of the region i.e. Beacon House, Garrison Academy, Army Public School, Pepperdine, City School & Dastgir Ideal school.
Most of the Roshni Homes children are at average 80% students in their respective schools. (Results available on request).
Roshni Homes is recognized by Pakistan Centre of Philanthropy and duly audited by its staff.
Roshni Homes has 60/40 gender equity ratio and has special emphasis for equipping orphan girls with quality education. Roshni Homes has separate “youth blocks” for adolescent male and female children.
Roshni Homes provides Islamic education to its children and are provided with Islamic tutors for learning, Quran, Namaaz and basic principles of Islam. Alhamdulillah all our Children say their Namaaz regularly.
Roshni Homes is a Pakistani Charity and run on Zakat and Contributions of Pakistani nation, it receives no contribution from any foreign or international Channel/Country.
Roshni Homes lays emphasis on character building and aptitude of children in order to make them travel towards the studies of their liking and choice
All donations are Tax exempted.
REQUEST: Roshni Homes are trying to do its best within its limited resources; it is a small Charity and only requires Rs.10 Million this yearfor its services. We only want to request you to please financially adopt a few of our children (any number on monthly basis by contributionof your Zakat (any amount), we will adjust your amount proportionately and send you quarterly reports of the children under your Kifalat.
