Mr. Zawaydeh’s association with Warid Telecom International started in June 2004 as Group Chief Technical Officer and Board Executive Committee Member.

Mr. Zawaydeh is an electronics engineer with more than 29 years experience in telecommunications including Fixed Network, GSM and 3G Mobile Networks, internet‚ e–commerce and WIMAX. He is recognized for actively promoting world class cutting edge technologies in the global communication industry.

He held various senior level positions in the UAE-based Telecom operator Etisalat which included the office of Senior Executive Vice President Engineering Department Etisalat during 1996-2004. During his tenure with Etisalat, Mr. Zawaydeh played an important role in corporate studies and decision making related to strategic planning‚ business policies‚ organizational development and international investment.

Mr. Zawaydeh’s contributions at Warid have vital significance as he has played a pivotal role in the successful launch of Warid’s GSM network in Pakistan‚ Bangladesh‚ Congo and Uganda as well as Wateen LDI and WIMAX services in Pakistan. Besides a Group CTO, Board Director and Board Executive Committee Member in all Warid Telecom International Companies, Mr. Zawaydeh is currently holding the CEO Office for Warid Telecom Pakistan.

Mr Lim‚ 52‚ joined SingTel in October 1998. He was appointed EVP (Strategic Investments) in February 2006. In October 2006‚ Mr Lim assumed the position of CEO (International). He is responsible for SingTel’s regional associates and supports the growth objectives of SingTel’s business groups through strategic investments in the region.

Mr Lim has held various senior appointments‚ including EVP (Consumer Business) and EVP (Corporate Business) and was CEO of SingTel Mobile between April 2004 and February 2006. He is also Chairman of Bridge Mobile Pte Ltd. Mr Lim has extensive managerial experience in the public sector and was Deputy Secretary at the Ministry of Communications prior to joining SingTel. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering Science (Honours) from Balliol College‚ University of Oxford‚ UK and a Master in Public Health Engineering from the Imperial College of Science and Technology‚ University of London.

Mr. Shahzad Rauf joined Warid Telecom in March 2005. Prior to joining the company‚ Mr. Rauf was a founder and CEO of WebLight Productions Inc. providing B–2–B e–commerce supply chain management solutions for the food industry. He also has over 10 years of work experience of finance and information technology departments of public sectors in USA.

Mr. Rauf is a graduate from Eastern Michigan University‚ USA‚ from where he earned his MBA and MSIS degrees.

Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Tariq Gulzar brings with him a combined professional and industry background gained from over 15 years of experience in assurance‚ internal audit‚ accounting‚ risk management and general consulting in telecom and media industries. Mr. Gulzar is a Fellow Chartered Accountant (Pakistan)‚ a Certified Public Accountant (Colorado‚ USA) and a Certified Internal Auditor (New York‚ USA).

Prior to joining Warid‚ Mr. Gulzar was working as the Assistant Vice President in Risk & Regulatory Advisory practice of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC)‚ Canada‚ where he was responsible for delivering internal audit‚ sustainable process improvement and risk management services to organizations in terms of increased revenues‚ decreased costs‚ improved efficiency‚ control and organizational and process agility in a range of industries. Mr. Gulzar has also worked with Mobilink (Pakistan)‚ Millicom International Cellular S.A. (Luxembourg) and Modern Times Group AB (Sweden) before joining PwC in Canada.

Mr. Thomas Yeo joined Warid telecom as Chief Commercial Officer in October‚ 2007. He joined us from SingTel and he has been associated with the SingTel Group for more than 25 years. Thomas has held following appointments in SingTel:

• Vice President of Consumer Sales‚ responsible for the sales of all SingTel consumer products‚ including postpaid and prepaid mobile.
• Vice President of Consumer Marketing‚ responsible for the integrated marketing function of SingTel’s consumer group which includes product marketing‚ marketing communications‚ campaign‚ segment and event marketing.
• Vice President (Corporate Business Marketing)‚ responsible for developing and setting strategic directions for SingTel’s global marketing efforts.
• Thomas also headed SingTel Yellow Pages as its Chief Executive Officer from 1995 to 2000.

Mr. Javed Mushtaq is a seasoned IT professional backed up by 21 years of domestic and global experience. He has worked both in private and public sector. Mr. Mushtaq has worked in Medibank Pvt limited‚ one of the largest health insurance companies in Australia. He has also worked as vice president in a local bank IT department‚ with responsibilities of automating different banking processes and was also director technical in a software house in Pakistan. He has worked in Middle East with one of a start refinery in Saud–I–Arabia. He also contributed in computerization of Punjab government and was one of the team members who started Punjab Police Center.
