  • What is this service?

    Warid SMS Email service is a new mobile e-mail solution that supports all popular e-mail accounts (Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo, any other POP mailbox). All mobile phones are supported and you don't have to install anything on your phone! All new e-mails will be pushed to your phone instantly as e-mail alerts; you can read these e-mails in detail and reply to them immediately! You can access this service via website, and SMS!
  • How do I subscribe to SMS Email?

    You can subscribe to SMS Email by sending a SMS message with text SUB to 2200. You will be charged Rs. 25 + tax for 1500 e-mail alerts and a 30 day subscription to SMS Email.
  • How much will it cost to use this service?

    The subscription price is Rs. 25 + tax per month and you would be allowed 1500 email message alerts for that month. The price for forwarding, replying to, blocking, unblocking or requesting a link to the complete e-mail will be charged at Rs. 0.5 + tax per message.
  • What is the validity period of my subscription?

    Your subscription to SMS Email is valid for 30 days.
  • How many Email alerts am I entitled to through my subscription?

    You receive a quota of 1500 email alerts upon your subscription to SMS Email. If you run out of e-mail alerts within 30 days, you can re-subscribe for an additional 1500 email alerts and 30 days would be added to your subscription validity automatically.
  • How do I re-subscribe to this service?

    Auto re-subscription is done after 30 days time.
  • What should I do when I am close to exhausting my email alerts or my Email alerts quota has expired?

    You receive a quota of 1500 email alerts upon your subscription to SMS Email. If you run out of e-mail alerts within 30 days, you can re-subscribe for an additional 1500 email alerts and 30 days would be added to your subscription validity automatically.
  • How do I find out the status of my Email alerts quota i.e. how many alerts are left?

    Log into the SMS Email website and click on the Subscription Status tab to find out how many Email alerts you have left.
  • How many Email accounts can I use with SMS Email?

    You can add up to 5 Email accounts to use with the SMS Email service.
  • What Email services are supported?

    In addition to supporting any Email account which supports POP access, the service supports popular web based services such as Gmail, Yahoo and Hotmail.
  • Can I add my company POP account and receive SMS alerts against that account?

    Yes, you can add any Email account which support downloading of Emails sent to you, via POP.
  • Can I control which Email alerts are sent to me?

    Yes, you can use filters to control whose emails are forwarded to you. You can set filters via the Filters tab on the SMS Email website and the WAP interface.
  • Can I control when Email alerts are sent to me?

    Yes, you can specify the days and times at which you wish to receive Emails on your handset. You can do this via the Filters tab on the SMS Email website and the WAP interface.
  • Can I read my emails via the SMS Email website?

    Yes, you can read Email messages via the service website.
  • Can I reply or forward an email from the SMS Email website?

    Yes, you can. Browse to the SMS Email website, browse to your e-mail account and then choose the e-mail you want to reply or forward. All e-mail control options are present on the SMS Email website.
  • How do I add another Email account?

    Log into the SMS Email website and click on the Add New Email Account link on the Accounts tab to add a new Email account.
  • Can I edit the setting of an Email account I have added?

    Yes, you can. Click on the Edit link in front of the Email account that you wish to edit in the Account tab.
  • Can I remove an Email account I added previously?

    Yes, you can remove an Email account that you added previously. In the Accounts tab, Just click on the Delete link in front of the account you wish to delete.
  • Can I stop the sending of Email alerts against one of my added Email accounts?

    Yes, you can do this by clicking the Deactivate link next to the Email account you wish to stop receiving Emails from.
  • Can I change my login password for the SMS Email website?

    Yes, you can. Click on the Change Password tab to change your login password.
  • How do I stop the receiving of all Email alerts from this service?

    Send a SMS message with text DISABLE to 2200 to disable all email alerts from this service.
  • How do I resume receiving Email alerts from this service?

    Send a SMS message with text ENABLE to 2200 to enable all email alerts from this service.
  • How do I reply to an Email via SMS? Simply reply to the SMS alert with REPLY<space><message> and your reply will be sent back to the e-mail from your account.

  • How do I forward an Email via SMS?

    Simply reply to the SMS alert with FORWARD<space><e-mail address> and your e-mail will be forwarded to your specified e-mail address from your account. Please ensure to add semi-colons between multiple e-mail addresses when forwarding your e-mail to more than one account.
  • Please list all the SMS commands that are available.

    Here are all the SMS commands that are available to you to create and manage your SMS Email account:

    The following commands are sent to the 2200 short code:

    SUB Starts the SMS Email registration process
    DISABLE Allows you to stop all Email alerts
    ENABLE Allows you to resume receiving alerts against all your accounts

    Send the following commands in response to a particular Email alert that you receive:

    BLOCK Block Email alerts against a particular Email ID
    REPLY <space><YOUR MESSAGE> Reply to a particular Email
    FORWARD <space><EMAIL1> Forward a particular Email
  • What does it mean when it says OK or Error in the connection column?

    The connection column indicates if we were able to access your account last time we tried. OK indicates that we are able to connect to your account to download your latest email messages, whereas Error indicates that there was a problem accessing your account. The Error condition is usually caused when you have not configured your account correctly, or there were connectivity problems between our servers and the servers of your Email provider.
  • Can I Block e-mails from specific senders or allow e-mails from specific senders? Yes, you can specify the e-mails you want to receive via the Filters tab on the SMS Email website. Alternatively you can reply to a SMS alert with BLOCK and all e-mails from that e-mail address will not be sent to your phone.

  • Who has access to my Email account information?

    No one has access to your account information, other than you. All your information is stored in a database in encrypted format and is totally illegible. We take appropriate security measures to protect against unauthorized access to the servers hosting the service and related information.
  • How do I unsubscribe from the service?

    Send UNSUB to 2200 to unsubscribe from the service. To stop receiving alerts send a SMS message with text DISABLE to 2200 to disable all email alerts from this service. You may also disable alerts via the web interface by clicking on the Subscription Status tab and then clicking on the Disable link.
  • I am not receiving any Email alerts against my Yahoo account.

    In case you do not receive any Email alerts against your Yahoo account, we suggest that you switch to the new Yahoo interface. To switch to the new interface, go to Mail Options in your Yahoo account and there click on the link "The new Yahoo! Mail has arrived! Try it now!"
  • How do I enable POP access for my Gmail account?

    To enable POP access for your Gmail account please follow the steps below:
    1. After logging into your Gmail account, click on Settings
    2. Click on the "Forwarding and POP/IMAP" tab
    3. In the POP Download section select "Enable POP for mail that arrives from now on"
    4. Click on Save Changes
      SMS Email should now be able to retrieve your Gmail Emails and send you alerts against them.
  • How long will it take after I add a new Email account for the status in the connection column to become OK and for me to start receiving alerts?

    When you add a new Email account it may take up to 15 minutes for the account to become active and for the service to start sending alerts against your newly added Email account.
